Jack Cichy, from Hill-Murray High School in Maplewood, Minn., will be a preferred walk-on for the University of Wisconsin football team.

Cichy (6-foot-3, 195 pounds), who confirmed his oral commitment on his Twitter account on Tuesday, will be a linebacker for the Badgers.

His sister, Tessa, is a freshman on the UW women’s basketball team. Both of his parents were college athletes as well.

Steve Cichy played football at Notre Dame and in the Canadian Football League, while mom Lisa played basketball for one season at Marquette.

The family lives in Somerset.
