The University of Wisconsin will play in its fifth Big Ten Championship game Saturday — an event that will take place for just the seventh time.

No other program has a recent history in Indianapolis that matches the Badgers. Yet, it’s been a while since UW has left the city with a victory to show for it.

The Badgers’ last two appearances were devastating in different ways — a 59-0 embarrassment against Ohio State in 2014 and a blown 21-point lead versus Penn State last year.

UW hasn’t hoisted the conference title trophy since winning the first two Big Ten Championship games in 2011 and 2012.

“This will be the third time we’re heading out there (since I’ve been at UW), and we haven’t won yet,” senior fullback Austin Ramesh said. "That would be awesome to get a win. That’s the next challenge we’ve got, and that’s what we’re focusing on."

This year, the stakes are higher than ever. The Badgers can redeem themselves from last year’s collapse, seek revenge on Ohio State from that 2014 blowout and all the while lock up a College Football Playoff spot with a win.

Here’s a look at the Badgers’ previous trips to the Big Ten Championship game.
