Lee Evans' devastating knee injury in the University of Wisconsin football team's spring intrasquad game occurred nearly a decade ago, but its ramifications are still being felt today.

With the risk of a similar injury far outweighing any reward for trotting Montee Ball onto the field for Saturday's 4 p.m. scrimmage, the Heisman Trophy finalist will be a spectator, Badgers coach Bret Bielema announced Monday.

"Montee's our hardest worker, and the hardest worker in practice," Bielema said. "At this point, we just don't feel it's necessary to take him to the ground."
