DALLAS -- Former University of Wisconsin athlete Steven Reinprecht had a natural hat trick Friday in the Florida Panthers' 6-5 shootout victory over the Dallas Stars.

Reinprecht, a nine-year NHL veteran and member of the Badgers' most recent MacNaughton Cup championship team in 2000, accomplished his feat in a span of 5 minutes, 14 seconds during the first period.

He beat Dallas goalie Alex Auld on rebounds at 10:38 and 15:20, then completed his fifth career three-goal game 29 seconds later when he swept a loose puck past Auld.

The Stars rallied to send the game to overtime and the shootout, where Florida's Rostislav Olesz was the only successful shooter.
