Seven players who have given verbal commitments to join the University of Wisconsin men's hockey team were listed among players to watch for players eligible for the 2018 NHL draft.

Five of them were classified by NHL Central Scouting in a preliminary report as candidates to be picked in the second or third rounds.

Defensemen Ty Emberson, Christian Krygier, Cole Krygier and K'Andre Miller and right wing Sampo Ranta got a "B" rating.

Center Ben Helgeson and goaltender Daniel Lebedeff got a "C" classification, which translates to a selection in the fourth to sixth rounds.

Emberson and Miller play for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, while the Krygier brothers (Lincoln) and Ranta (Sioux City) are with teams in the United States Hockey League.

After playing last season with the USHL's Madison Capitols, Lebedeff has moved to the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League.

Helgeson is a junior at Hill-Murray High School in Minnesota and has seven points in 12 games for Team Southeast in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League.
