A weekend without a victory didn't cost the University of Wisconsin men's hockey team in the USCHO.com poll.

The Badgers stayed No. 7 after a loss and a tie at the Kohl Center against North Dakota, which moved up two spots to No. 2.

St. Cloud State took over as No. 1 after defending national champion Denver was swept by Western Michigan last weekend.

UW is one of five Big Ten Conference teams in the top 20. Minnesota is fourth, Notre Dame is sixth, Ohio State is 17th and Penn State is 19th.

UW (6-4-1) returns to Big Ten Conference play on Friday and Saturday at Michigan State (4-4).
