Basketball highlights: A returning letterwinner at shooting guard, Kristen averaged 3.9 points per game as a reserve for the Eagles as a junior. Barneveld won the Six Rivers East Conference title and was the WIAA Division 5 state runner-up, finishing with a 27-2 record.

Softball highlights: Kristen is a three-time letterwinner, competing as a pitcher and at third base. The Six Rivers East Conference Player of the Year as a pitcher as a junior, she also earned All-District honorable mention honors. She earned all-conference first-team honors as a junior as a pitcher and all-league honorable mention recognition as a sophomore as a utility player.

I got my start in sports: Playing softball in pre-school, basketball in fourth grade and volleyball in seventh grade.

I wish I could play: Tennis.

My most memorable moments in sports: My junior year in basketball beating Heritage Christian and going to state, it was such a thrilling game and came out the way we wanted. Getting the silver ball at state was a great way to end the season.

I like about high school sports: They give you the chance to be competitive but also have a good time with friends.

I enjoy playing softball because: It’s a great sport to get to know a lot of good people, and I think make a good quality player. Being outdoors is also a good thing about softball.

Advice: “Always do your best and give 100 percent effort. You never know when your name will be called to step up and make a contribution to the team.”

My role models are: My parents, John and Angie, because they are always there for me and helping me in all kinds of ways.

Most inspirational teammate: Madi Laube graduated last year, but she has been a teammate of mine for three years and I always enjoyed having her around. She worked hard and was successful at everything she did.

My family also includes: My brother, Andrew.

I can't live without: My friends and family

I like Barneveld High School because: It is a small school and everyone gets to know each other and become friends.

If I could change anything: It would be to have cell phone reception at my house. I live in a valley, so communication can be tough sometimes.

I wish I could meet: Luke Bryan or Carrie Underwood.

My perfect day: Spending the whole day with friends and just having a good time.

This and that: Member of National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Student Council and Class Officer … I have been a part of the Wisconsin Covenant, so I have found volunteer work through NHS and other areas. For softball, we clean the highway. With NHS, we have wrapped presents for Secret Santa and helped with Feed My Starving Children.

Academic honors: Earned an academic letter and will either be Class Valedictorian or Salutatorian.

Hobbies: Listening to music, spending time with friends, spending time with my family in Potosi.

Post-high school plans: Attend college and major in physical therapy and minor in Biology and possibly play softball.

Did you know? I participated in Betty Haye's School of Dance in elementary and middle school. I also have a job in the picking department at Lands' End.

Career goal: Physical Therapy or science-related field.
