Sports: Football, basketball, baseball

Football highlights: Sam was a two-time letterwinner as a wide receiver. As a senior, he was named to the All-City team and also earned Southern Badger Conference second-team honors. Sam caught 35 passes for 582 yards and eight touchdowns. Edgewood advanced to the WIAA Division 2 state semifinals his junior year and the first round of the playoffs his senior year.

Basketball highlights: A returning letterwinner as a forward, Sam is averaging 5.5 points per game as a reserve forward/guard as a senior.

Baseball highlights: Sam is a returning letterwinner as outfielder and pitcher for the Crusaders, who won the Southern Badger Conference title and finished 17-9 his junior year.

Cumulative grade-point average: 3.7

Favorite subject/class: Human Anatomy and Physiology

Favorite teacher: Too many to choose from.

I got my start in sports: in my neighborhood tee-ball league when I was 6 years old.

My most memorable moments in sports: was going to the WIAA Division 3 state semifinals in football during my junior year.

I like about high school sports: being a part of a team that is working toward a common goal and making great memories with my friends.

I enjoy playing basketball because: it has always been a part of my life. My dad played high school and some college basketball, so you can only imagine.

Advice: Get involved! Playing sports is a great way to meet new people and broaden the way that you think.

I like Edgewood High School because: There is a great sense of community. It challenges you academically, provides many great opportunities to succeed, and the teachers are helpful and fun.

If I could change anything: I would put the Wisconsin Badgers in the Legends Division.

I wish we could play: City of Madison high schools

I wish I could meet: Brian Scalabrini

Dream gift: Anything from Apple

My perfect day: Sleeping in, watching a movie, eating, hanging with friends, dinner at Ian’s, playing video games until 2 a.m.

I like to read: Sports Illustrated

This and that: member of National Honor Society, student ambassador … President of Ping Pong club ... volunteer work includes: Edgewood in the Community, youth football, basketball and baseball camps, middle school reading tutor … member High Honor Roll or Honor Roll every semester.

Hobbies: Sports for the most part

Post-high school plans: attend a Big Ten university to study liberal arts or possibly nursing.
