GREEN BAY — Don't want to say we told you so, but …

Earlier this month, we wrote about the rookie free agent who perhaps had the best chance of making the Packers. It was outside linebacker Dezman Moses of Tulane.

Since then, Moses has climbed the depth chart to the point where during Thursday's final minicamp practice, Moses worked with the starters at right outside linebacker.

Now, Clay Matthews, the starting right outside linebacker, hasn't been practicing. And neither has Frank Zombo, who has started on and off at that position. But the fact that Moses has been working ahead of veterans like Erik Walden speaks volumes.

Earlier this week, defensive coordinator Dom Capers offered some unprompted praise for Moses.

"I'll tell you the guy that's done a nice job for us picking things up and has some instinctive ability is Dezman Moses," Capers said. "He's done a nice job. He'll be an interesting guy to follow how he does."

In practice on Thursday, Moses appeared to have a sack of Aaron Rodgers, although defensive players aren't allowed to hit quarterbacks in the drills.

Coach Mike McCarthy didn't discuss Moses specifically but said a number of undrafted rookies have jumped out.

"I think a number of undrafted free agents, you have to be impressed with their athletic ability," he said. "They definitely belong. I think that's evident across the board. So I'm excited they're here. But to sit here and single out players that have made huge strides would be very premature, especially since we're not in pads."
