The Washington Redskins will face protesters as well as the Green Bay Packers when they play at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Press-Gazette Media reported that some Native Americans plan to protest during the game because they consider "redskins" a derogatory term.

The Wisconsin Indian Education Association's Mascot and Logo Taskforce plans to a hold a session Friday at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on the issue. Several members say they also will be at the noon game on Sunday with signs protesting the Washington team's name and logo.

The Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin is one of the Packers' major sponsors. Tribal business committee member Brandon Stevens says it has taken a position objecting to the Redskins' name but does not plan to participate in the protest.

I doubt the intent of the Redskins marquee is to be a slam against the American Indian., any more than the Cowboys label was intended to be derogatory towards cow-pokes.

People these days, seem intent to either try and find things wrong and when they cannot, they invent them.

Probably, and I bet 80% sitting in the stands will be thick necked bigots that have flipped off the protesters as they arrived at the game!
