The Madison Edgewood girls golf team will host the eighth annual Crusade Fore a Cure event benefiting Susan G. Komen Wisconsin at Maple Bluff Country Club on Monday, August 28.

20 high school teams are set to participate in the event and all have contributed towards fundraising.

Over $17,000 was raised at the event last year, which put the total to over $55,000 since the tournament's inception.

Komen director Michelle Heitzinger will be in attendance as well as Andy Landenberger of the WPGA Jr. Foundation.

Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and will close with guest speaker and Sauk Prairie tennis coach Katie Massey, who will share her story of being diagnosed with breast cancer at 29 years old.

There will be 21 different sponsors at the event, which is set for a shotgun start time of noon and is expected to last about six hours.
