The Madison Area Builders Association and Project Home at 10 a.m. Friday will unveil their completed makeover of a South Side home using green remodeling techniques.
Known as the Green Built Home Makeover Project, the third annual event focused on the home of Terry and Tammy Moss, 1714 Baird St., where Friday's event will take place.
An open house for the public will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday and will feature home tours. Green remodeling experts will be on hand to discuss the project and answer questions.
The couple has four children younger than 12, program sponsors said, and the family's 800-square-foot home, built on a cement slab, had moisture problems, inefficient appliances and no heat in any of the bedrooms. Other improvements included energy-efficient lighting fixtures and ceiling fans, storage solutions, spray-foam insulation, new siding and gutters and a window replacement.
