An agreement reached recently between Barneveld's Botham Brands and Verona distributor L & L Farms will make a flavored-infused cooking oil made from cottonseed oil available in a broader market.

Sarah Botham, president of Botham's Acala Farms, said L & L Foods plans to make Acala Farms cottonseed oil available in stores in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, Botham said. She added that Piggly Wiggly will be selling the product in 20 of its southern Wisconsin stores.

Acala Farms was launched last year by Botham Brands -- the parent company of Botham Vineyards & Winery -- with five flavors as well as pure cottonseed oil. It has introduced five additional flavors over the past six months.

The oils are the only flavored cottonseed cooking oils available to consumers, and Botham said she hopes the agreement will help Acala Farms continue to grab a bigger share of the growing cooking and dipping oil market.
