Anticipating rapid growth serving the infrastructure needs of electric utilities nationwide, Realtime Utility Engineers has moved its business from Madison’s West Side to a new, larger office space at 2908 Marketplace Drive in Fitchburg, the company said in a news release.

Founded in 1994 by Robert Strycharske and Scott Piernot, the company has about 200 employees. The new location will provide space to grow by 50 percent over the next few years, with a possible doubling of employment in seven to 10 years, due in part to increased work expected from the continued aging of the nation’s electric grid, according to the company.

Realtime Utility Engineers provides consulting services including the design of high voltage substations, transmission power lines and green energy generation facilities. It has a second office in Boston.
