Jeffrey Zutz took the helm as president and CEO of Flad Architects, as of March. Zutz joined Flad in 1989 and has served as managing principal for the past 12 years.

He succeeds William Bula, who was president and CEO since 2005. Bula remains with the firm in a principal advisory position.

Flad, founded in 1927, is one of Madison’s largest architecture firms. Flad has 325 employees, 190 of them in Madison.

In addition to its headquarters at 644 Science Drive, Flad has offices in eight other cities, including New York City and San Francisco.

According to Building Design + Construction’s annual Giants 300 report, Flad is the 16th-largest architecture/engineering firm in the U.S., overall, with $96.4 million in revenue in 2016.

It ranks No. 5 among science and technology architectural firms with $38 million in revenue in that field in 2016, and is ninth-largest in university architecture and 18th-largest in health care architecture.
