Miller Park brew taps will see a new, special-edition beer later this summer crafted in part by three current players with the Milwaukee Brewers.

First baseman Eric Thames, reliever Oliver Drake and pitcher Corey Knebel will meet with MillerCoors’ brewers Monday to take the first steps in creating a new brew for the stadium.

Thames, who is playing his first season with the Brewers, came to Milwaukee excited for the beer culture.

“I came to Milwaukee before I signed, checked it out, and after an hour, I knew it was where I wanted to be. I love the Midwest. I love the hospitality of people. And Milwaukee has great beer,” Thames told USA Today. “I love beer.”

Knebel has been home-brewing beer as a hobby for more than two years.

Fans will have just a few chances to sample the beer as it will only have a limited release later this summer.
