Many moms will be treated to breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner out Sunday as families celebrate the women who often plan and prepare the meals and cleaning up afterwards. 

On an average day, women spent more than twice as much time preparing food and drink and doing interior cleaning as did men, according to 2015 data from the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Men spent more than twice as much time doing activities related to lawn, garden and maintenance as did women. 

Dads will get their day in June, but Mother's Day -- the biggest restaurant day of the year -- is fast approaching. Nearly half of all Americans will eat out or get takeout or delivery on the second Sunday in May. 

So if you fall in that 50 percent, here are 10 local places where you can show mom how much you appreciate her. And at this late date, it's a good idea to call ahead to see if you can get a reservation.
