Fall Gallery Night

Meander around 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and behold the talents of area artists during Madison Museum of Contemporary Art’s Fall Gallery Night. More than 65 venues — galleries, photography studios, bars, coffee shops, cafes, realtors, banks, churches, offices, and more — in Madison, Mount Horeb, Fitchburg, Middleton and Waunakee will host artists showing, and selling, their latest works. Venues will offer specials including refreshments, artist talks and music.

Art mediums range from oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings to fiber arts, photography, metal, glass, jewelry, wood and more.

Keep the fun going at the Gallery Night After Party 9 to 11 p.m. Friday in the lobby of MMOCA, 227 State St. Music, snacks, a cash bar and art activities are included with admission that is free for museum members and $5 for others.

Latino art and music

Make a stop at Overture Center, 201 State St., during Gallery Night, 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, for the Latino Art Fair. Showcasing the rich Latino culture, the free art fair will exhibit pottery, paintings, photography, prints, jewelry, textile arts, dolls, and more, created by Latin@ artists from the greater Madison area. Meet the artists and have the opportunity to purchase their work.

Stay around for music from the Grammy-winning group La Santa Cecilia at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Capitol Theater at the Overture Center. A hybrid of Latin culture, rock and world music, the band draws inspiration from Latin American influences and Mexican heritage. Tickets range from $25 to $35.

Oktoberfest tradition

Freshen up your Lederhosen to waltz and polka with the Dorf Kapelle Show Band 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Dorf Haus, 8931 County Road Y, Sauk City, during their Oktoberfest tradition. The Bavarian-style supper club will serve a buffet featuring kasseler rippchen, sauerbraten, spatzle, red cabbage, German potato salad, and more, beginning at noon. The bar will open at 10:30 a.m. Cost for dinner and show is $42; reservations are required by calling the Dorf Haus at 608-643-3980.
