Two men from Sun Prairie were indicted in federal court Wednesday for allegedly running a heroin distribution operation.

Darnell A. Brunt, 33, and Claudius L. Fincher, 21, were arrested on Sept. 18 with more than 100 grams of heroin, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. From late August and into September, the men had distributed heroin on four occasions, according to the attorney's office.

Both are charged with possession with intent to distribute for when they were arrested with more than 100 grams last month and four counts of distribution of heroin for each alleged sale, the attorney's office said.

Brunt and Fincher face a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 40 years if convicted.

Madison police spokesman Joel DeSpain said 436 grams of heroin were found in the duo's Sun Prairie residence, and the street value of the drugs was $65,000.

The Dane County Narcotics Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration took part in the investigation.
