A man making a scene inside a normally quiet Madison library was arrested Thursday after allegedly ripping a changing table off a bathroom wall.

Keenan Walker, 26, no permanent address, was tentatively charged with criminal damage to property and resisting/obstructing, Madison police said.

The incident happened at the Hawthorne branch of the Madison Public Library, 2707 E. Washington Ave., at about 10:15 a.m.

"Witnesses said he had been stomping his foot, pacing and singing when he jumped on the changing station," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain.

Walker allegedly tore the changing station from the wall, causing an estimated $1,200 in damage.
