An East Side bank was robbed during lunch hour on Monday, with nobody injured during the robbery.

The robbery happened shortly after noon at BMO Harris Bank, 1202 N. Sherman Ave., Madison police said.

The suspect demanded money from a teller but didn't display a weapon. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

"A police dog attempted to track him down but thus far, this has not been successful," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain.

The suspect is a black man in his late 40s to early 50s, black and gray hair, mustache, thin build, 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing a dark puffy coat, dark pants and a dark winter hat.
