Gunfire heard on Janesville's Near West Side Monday night resulted in no injuries or property damage.

Callers to 911 said shots were fired at about 7:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South Academy Street, Janesville police said.

One caller was located several blocks away on Lincoln Street and heard the gunfire.

Police found seven shell casings on Academy Street.

A neighborhood canvass was conducted by police but no victims were located, and there was no evidence anyone was injured.

Area hospitals were notified in case anyone showed up with suspicious injuries or a gunshot wound.

No suspects were identified.
