Madison Police squad car tight crop

A North Side home was hit by gunfire Wednesday night, but the resident not hurt.

It happened around 9:40 p.m. in the 3800 block of Goodland Drive, Madison police said.

The resident told police he heard three shots in front of the house.

"He discovered the glass on the storm door was shattered," said Sgt. David Compton.

A neighbor told police a vehicle had stopped in front of the victim's house, fired three shots and drove away.

Officers recovered evidence at the scene; no description of the suspect vehicle was given.
