No one was injured after shots were fired in a town of Medina home invasion

STEVE APPS, STATE JOURNAL ARCHIVES

Several shots were fired at an armed home invasion in the town of Medina early Friday morning, the Dane County Sheriff's Office said.

At least one person forced his or her way into a home around 3 a.m. but fled when confronted by the resident who was in the home at the time, spokeswoman Elise Schaffer said.

No injuries were reported, Schaffer said.

The suspect or suspects left the scene before deputies could arrive, but Schaffer said the home was targeted, and the public is not in danger.

The Sheriff's Office did not release the name of the victim or the address citing safety concerns.
