UPDATE: Fitchburg police said a suspect in a Monday morning bank robbery has been arrested.

Quincy M. Dixon, 24, was arrested in Madison around 6 p.m., police said. He was taken to the Dane County Jail for a parole violation while the robbery remains under investigation, police said.

A man, who was believed to be armed, robbed a BMO Harris Bank on Monday morning, the Fitchburg Police Department said.

The robber entered the bank at 2900 Fish Hatchery Road and passed a teller a note demanding money, police said. The man had taken off on foot toward the west before police were notified of the robbery around 10:55 a.m.

While he did not display a weapon, police are saying the at-large robber is to be considered armed and dangerous.

A police dog was not able to track down the suspect.
