A 57-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another man during a fight between the two.

Harryl Ammons, no permanent address, was tentatively charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, Madison police said.

The confrontation happened in the upper State Street area.

The 70-year-old victim suffered a stab wound that was not life-threatening early Thursday morning.

Police were sent to the 200 block of State Street at about 1:15 a.m. for a report of a weapons offense, finding the victim at that location, with a stab wound to his left torso area.

"The victim was conveyed to a local hospital where he was interviewed, but was not cooperating with the investigation," said Sgt. Nathan Becker.

The area surrounding where the victim was found was canvassed by police but the crime scene wasn't determined and no suspect was identified.

Ammons was located and arrested Thursday morning.
