Fitchburg police said they are continuing to investigate a stabbing that took place Thursday sometime before it was reported at 7:28 p.m.
Police responded to the 1900 block of Greenway Cross on the report of a 23-year-old female vomiting in the hallway of an apartment complex. They found the woman with a stab wound.
She was taken to a local hospital where she was in critical, but stable condition Thursday night.
Detectives were planning to interview the woman Friday morning, but so far hadn't determined whether the woman had been stabbed in a domestic incident or by a stranger, police said.
