A postal worker from Madison was charged with three counts of mail theft Wednesday by a federal grand jury.

Sarah R. Bremer, 52, allegedly stole mail and articles contained within mail three times in November and December 2011, according to an indictment in U.S. District Court.

Bremer was working at the U.S. Postal Service Processing and Distribution Center in Madison. If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison on each count.

The federal grand jury also charged Rashon Howard, 27, of Madison, with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
