Lori Compas, who organized a recall effort against state Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, will announce Tuesday she is running against the veteran Republican from Juneau, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Saturday.

Compas, 41, a Fort Atkinson photographer, led the recall effort against Fitzgerald that delivered 20,600 signatures to the state Government Accountability Board on Jan. 17. She couldn’t be reached for comment Saturday evening.

The GAB is in the process of checking to see if there are at least 16,742 valid signatures from the Senate’s 13th District among those submitted. Fitzgerald has represented the 13th District since 1994.
