Another Democrat has announced he will enter the race for Wisconsin's governorship.
Oconomowoc resident Tim John, owner and president of the Milwaukee-based Christian printing company Blue Mound Graphics and great-grandson of Miller Brewing Co. founder Frederick J. Miller, announced his candidacy on Friday.
In an e-mailed press release, John said his first priority as governor would be reducing the state's unemployment, "especially in places where thousands of unemployed black men face long odds finding family-supporting jobs."
John received a master's degree in history from UW-Milwaukee in 1997 and is the author of "The Miller Beer Barons: The Frederick Miller Family and Its Brewery." According to his campaign biography, he is the former president and board member of the Santa Fe Communications, a national nonprofit. John's father, Harry G. John Jr., was president of Miller Brewing in 1946.
John joins Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett and Jared Gary Christiansen in seeking the Democratic nomination. His campaign Web site can be found at www.timjohnforgovernor.com.
