Vice President Joe Biden will be in Madison Thursday to raise money for Democratic candidate for governor Tom Barrett.

Biden is billed as the "special guest" for a breakfast fundraiser at Monona Terrace. Tickets cost $250 per person.

His visit is just the latest sign that Wisconsin's governor's race is drawing national attention from Democrats and Republicans alike. The Democratic Governors Association has said it is one of the top 10 races it's targeting nationally, and President Barack Obama spoke at an August fundraiser for Barrett in Milwaukee.

Earlier this week, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was in Wisconsin raising money for Barrett's Republican rival, Scott Walker.

The vice president is traveling to Madison from Washington, D.C., Thursday morning. After the fundraiser, Biden heads to Springfield, Mo., to attend an event for U.S. Senate candidate Robin Carnahan.
