WTAQ radio talk show host Jerry Bader has been reinstated following a two-week suspension for a story in which he cited unnamed sources who purported to reveal the reason for Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton's decision to drop out of the race for governor.
Bader later apologized for the report, which he retracted, saying he no longer had confidence in the story.
Lawton, a Democrat, has cited "very personal reasons" for her decision to fold her campaign. She has declined to be more specific.
In an announcement on the Green Bay radio station's Web site, WTAQ station manager Duke Wright said he had reviewed Bader's actions "measured against his overall performance over the years. Wright said he also was influenced by the dozens of comments and e-mails expressing support for Bader that the station received during the suspension.
