Shawn Lerch has been named CEO of Sauk Prairie Healthcare, replacing Larry Schroeder, who retired in January.
Originally from Albany, Wisconsin, Lerch has been CEO for five years at Miners’ Colfax Medical Center in Raton, New Mexico. He began his healthcare career as a physical therapy assistant at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Wisconsin.
Lerch, who will begin at Sauk Prairie in June, is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He earned his master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota.
Sauk Prairie Healthcare opened a 36-bed hospital in 2014, near Highway 12 and Highway PF, west of downtown Prairie du Sac. It replaced a hospital built in 1956 between the downtowns of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac.
