Groundbreaking ceremony for Allied Park

A groundbreaking ceremony for the future home of Allied Park will be held from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday at 2370 Revival Rdg. The public is invited to join Mayor Paul Soglin, Ald. Warner Family Fun Night

Join in on the many activities at the May Warner Family Fun Night. Create an art or pottery project, play in the game room or on the bouncy house, watch the movie “Trolls” or win prizes playing Bingo. Family Fun Night will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center, 1625 Northport Dr. Cost: $5 per family. Information: www.cityofmadison.com/parks.

Plant sale

The third annual Occupy Madison Village Spring Plant Sale and Fundraiser will be held on Saturday. Hundreds of heirloom vegetables, herbs and flowers will be for sale, along with hand-crafted planters, birdhouses, bird feeders, bread boards, French rolling pins and jewelry. The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 304 N. Third St. In addition, there will music, refreshments and tours of OM Village — plus a sneak peak of the luxury tiny home that will be auctioned this summer. Funds raised by the auction and plant sale will allow Occupy Madison to make needed renovations to the village site. For more information visit facebook.com/OMBuild.

Lake View herb walk

Explore the wellness of the wild weeds with Jackie Nikolaus from Friends of Lake View Hill Park on Saturday. Discover what’s growing in the park and discuss the healing nature of the plants as well as how to harvest and prepare them. Meet near the water tower.
