The Midwest Young Adult Cancer Conference will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Gilda’s Club, 7907 UW Health Court, Middleton. The free conference is for those diagnosed with cancer prior to the age 40. Workshops, community resources and new tools to enhance cancer patients’ lives are part of the conference. The Monona Terrace rooftop is the place to be to see the moon and other celestial objects through a variety of telescopes provided by the Madison Astronomical Society. Moon Over Monona Terrace will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday. New this year, a moon rock from the Apollo 15 mission as well as other meteorite samples will be available for viewing. Other activities include children-friendly presentations about the moon, plus a children’s fun zone with educational games and prizes.
