Odin, the UW-Madison Police Department's explosive-detection and tracking K9, was put down Tuesday morning, Oct. 3, after developing masses on his spleen and liver. The 9-year-old german shepherd was born in the Czech Republic and partnered with Lt. Brent Plisch. His remains were taken from his home in McFarland to Memorial Pet Services in Middleton accompanied by a police processional. He will be buried at a later date alongside past UW Police K9s Mosley and Rex.
