A Toyota Camry was significantly damaged after it was engulfed by flames during Thursday's rush hour on the Beltline, the Madison Fire Department said.

The vehicle was traveling west on the Beltline at about 6:15 p.m. near Whitney Way when the driver saw smoke coming from under the vehicle, fire department spokeswoman Cynthia Schuster said.

The driver was uninjured and the cause of the fire is unknown, she said.
