Mary Lu Anderson: Packer nation split by Favre saga

I was sad and ashamed at how some fans treated Brett Favre when he returned to Lambeau Field. Short memories, everyone.

Favre wanted to play for the Packers, but coach Mike McCarthy sent him away. Remember McCarthy said that the train had left the station?

Oh yes, the train has definitely left. In its wake, the Packer nation is split to its very soul. McCarthy and Ted Thompson are standing alone on the platform, and one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time is playing for the Vikings! He was ours, and they sent him away.

I wish Brett and Deanna Favre well and wait for the day he will wear green and gold again as he enters the Hall of Fame.
