Many Wisconsinites have discovered that the hemp-based cannabidiol products they can find at local stores can be life-changing. CBD oil products can ease pain, calm stress and anxiety and help people transition away from pharmaceuticals.

Responding to growing outrage over his decision to issue an opinion that basically crushed the state's budding hemp CBD oil industry and declares these non-intoxicating products illegal under state law, Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel said, "We have an obligation to protect public health and safety, and need to provide frontline law enforcement with the knowledge to enforce the law as it is written."

Coming from an individual who has used his office to facilitate the gutting of Wisconsin environmental regulations, sided with Big Pharma in refusing to sue drug makers for the opioid crisis, failed to fix a huge backlog of untested rape kits and who appears willing to stoop as low as possible to please moneyed special interests, Schimel's law and order posturing is laughable and hypocritical.

If he truly cared about the health and safety of Wisconsinites, he would drop not only this senseless attack on CBD and the hemp industry, but embrace legalizing whole plant medical cannabis as well.
