I read with interest the recent letter to the editor "Thanks for the East Side memories" and agree with the author's summary of Schenk's Corners' retail destinations.
But one most important destination was overlooked -- Nibble Nook.
Hands down, Nibble Nook was the quintessential malt shop for kids to hang out at on the East Side during the late '50s and early '60s. The Nook offered the very best hamburgers, pinball machines and jukebox. Fond reflections of munching the greatest 15-cent hamburger on the planet while basking in the ambiance of Nibble Nook has created quasi "Happy Days" memories for me and countless others lucky enough to have graced this iconic Schenk's Corner destination.
