Utility man Hernan Perez delivered a two-run single in the Milwaukee Brewers’ 7-6 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday in Maryvale, Arizona.
That gives Perez four hits, including a pair of doubles, and only one strikeout in his first 10 Cactus League at-bats.
“He had three more good at-bats today,” manager Craig Counsell said. “He’s in a good place. He’s kind of eliminated some of the leg kick he had last year to try to see the ball a little better. Early results have been good.”
Outfielder Keon Broxton also stayed hot with two hits and two runs scored, and catching prospect Jacob Nottingham hit the Brewers’ third spring home run.
Junior Guerra allowed three hits and one earned run over two innings, and Brent Suter followed with one hitless inning.
