Fresh off a championship in the Big Ten tournament, the University of Wisconsin men's soccer team earned a bid to the 2017 NCAA tournament on Monday.
The Badgers will host the University of Illinois-Chicago at 7 p.m. Thursday at the McClimon Complex in a first-round NCAA game. The winner will then face No. 12 seed Notre Dame on Sunday in South Bend, Indiana.
Wisconsin snared the Big Ten's automatic berth in the NCAA tournament by virtue of its win over Indiana in Sunday's Big Ten championship game. After the Badgers and the Hoosiers battled through regulation and two overtimes without any goals, Wisconsin then won a 4-2 penalty kick shootout.
Advance tickets for Thursday's NCAA game will go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and will be available until 4 p.m. Thursday at UWBadgers.com, by phone at 608-262-1440 or at the Wisconsin Athletic Ticket Office.
