The University of Wisconsin football team finished seventh in the final Associated Press poll, released early Tuesday morning following Alabama's win over Georgia in the national championship game.

It's the highest final ranking in the poll for the Badgers since also finishing seventh to end the 2010 season.

The Crimson Tide, as expected, took the top spot in the poll, followed by the Bulldogs, Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State and Central Florida.

UCF, the only undefeated FBS team, received four first-place votes and moved up four spots in the final poll to jump UW.

The Badgers, who finished with a 13-1 record after beating Miami in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30, could return as many as 14 starters next season, including 10 on offense.
