The University of Wisconsin men's hockey team is out to end a lengthy skid in home games against Ohio State when the teams meet in Friday's Big Ten Conference opener (7 p.m., FSW, 1310 AM).
The Badgers are winless in their last seven home games against the Buckeyes (0-5-2), including a pair of losses to close last regular season. In that stretch, which dates to the second game of a series in January 2014, Ohio State has outscored UW 21-9 in games at the Kohl Center.
Despite sophomore goaltender Jack Berry being listed first on the line chart, graduate transfer Kyle Hayton led the Badgers out for warmups. He made 20 saves in the 3-2 victory over Michigan Tech last Sunday. Forward Matthew Freytag also is in the lineup, replacing Dan Labosky.
