Sean and Jason Dhooghe each scored his first collegiate goal for the seventh-ranked University of Wisconsin men's hockey team Saturday, but No. 4 North Dakota equalized twice in a 2-2 tie at the Kohl Center.

Three stars

No. 3: Badgers goalie Kyle Hayton had a few highlight-reel saves among his 30.

No. 2: Sean Dhooghe started the game with a big hit and made a memory by scoring on a penalty shot.

No. 1: Jason Dhooghe made the block that launched his brother's breakaway and later pounced on a rebound for a goal of his own.

Up next

The Badgers (6-4-1) play at Michigan State next Friday and Saturday.

The seventh-ranked University of Wisconsin men's hockey team looks to avoid matching its longest losing streak of the Tony Granato coaching era when it hosts No. 4 North Dakota on Saturday at the Kohl Center (7 p.m., FSW, 1310 AM).

The Badgers have lost two in a row; their longest skid in 46 games under Granato is three, from March 4 to March 11 last season.

UW has two lineup changes from Friday's 3-2 loss to the Fighting Hawks. Max Zimmer and Jason Ford are out, and Matt Ustaski and Jason Dhooghe are in the fourth line.

North Dakota once again has Peter Thome in net. Making his collegiate debut in place of injured regular starter Cam Johnson, Thome made 36 saves on Friday.
