Badgers (2-1)

Coach: Tony Granato, 22-16-1 in his second season at UW and overall.

Player to watch: Freshman center Tarek Baker scored his first two collegiate goals last weekend, the first on a third-period penalty shot in Friday’s 3-2 loss to Ohio State. He shares the team lead in goals with Will Johnson and Linus Weissbach.

Injury report: Sophomore defenseman JD Greenway (undisclosed) is out.

You should know: The Badgers have been held to 25 shots on goal or fewer in two of their first three games. They recorded 25 or fewer in three games all of the 2016-17 season. ... UW is 1-5 at Conte Forum, with four straight losses since a 3-2 victory on Oct. 27, 2000. The past two games haven’t been close — a 9-2 Eagles victory in October 2013 and a 6-0 BC triumph two years later.

Eagles (0-0-1)

Coach: Jerry York, 1,033-614-115 in his 46th season overall, 566-279-81 in his 24th season at Boston College.

Player to watch: Sophomore goaltender Joseph Woll has a .914 save percentage and 2.59 goals-against average in 35 collegiate appearances. He was a third-round draft pick of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs in 2016.

You should know: The Eagles were decimated by departures after tying for the Hockey East regular-season title but missing the NCAA tournament last season. They lost their top five scorers and, overall, 52 percent of their goal scoring. ... BC has eight NHL draft picks, the sixth-most of any college team. UW is tied for fifth with nine.

Warriors (0-1-1)

Coach: Mark Dennehy, 159-251-60 in his 14th season overall, 156-223-57 in his 13th season at Merrimack.

Player to watch: Senior left wing Brett Seney is the only returning Warriors player who scored at least 10 goals last season. The sixth-round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils in 2015 led Merrimack with 31 points in 2016-17, including two goals and an assist at UW.

You should know: The Warriors are hosting the Badgers for the first time, but the teams split a series at the Kohl Center last season. Collin Delia, who made 33 saves in blanking the Badgers, signed a pro contract after last season. Junior Drew Vogler started in goal in a loss and tie at Colgate last weekend.
