Warhawks update: Whitewater scored 35 points in the fourth quarter and 52 consecutive points to defeat Belhaven, 59-13. Sophomore running back Drew Patterson was named the WIAC's Offensive Athlete of the Week after carrying the ball 22 times for 227 yards and three scores. Warhawks senior defensive back Colin Buck made two interceptions and forced a fumble, earning WIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. Former Middleton athlete Cam Maly made the most of three carries, scoring two touchdowns. Belhaven threw the ball 76 times and Whitewater intercepted the Blazers’ quarterbacks six times. The Warhawks will play host Morningside, Iowa at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

No. 10 UW-Platteville (2-0) bye

Pioneers update: Platteville played host to St. Francis, Ill., last week and earned a 26-7 victory. Tom Kelly was responsible for throwing for all four Pioneers touchdowns. Senior Dan Arnold caught five passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Seniors Patrick Sheehan and Seth Kaufmann caught the other two. Platteville was able to force three turnovers, intercepting Don Butkus twice and forcing him to fumble. Next for the Pioneers is a visit to Lakeland College at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.
