Notes: The Titans finished second behind Whitewater in the WIAC race last year, but it was Oshkosh that advanced to the NCAA Division III championship game. Last year, the teams played at Whitewater before a then-NCAA III record 17,535 fans. The Warhawks had a bye last week after earning their first victory, a 40-21 win at Washington-St. Louis that saw Whitewater score 27 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. The Warhawks produced 564 yards of offense and the defense recorded nine sacks. … Oshkosh hasn’t played since Sept. 9, when the Titans hammered Virginia Lynchburg, 74-7. Five of the last seven games between the Warhawks and Titans have been decided by three or fewer points, including the last three.
No. 22 UW-Stout (2-0) at No. 12 UW-Platteville (3-0), 2 p.m. Saturday

Notes: Last week, Monona Grove product Tyler Blang threw four touchdown passes in his first collegiate start as Platteville racked up 516 yards of offense in a 56-22 victory over Lakeland College. Mount Horeb product Wyatt Thompson rushed for 87 yards for the winners and Mark Johnson had nine catches for 155 yards and three TDs. … Stout has been the surprise of the WIAC this season, shutting out Simpson College (Iowa) in its opener before taking a 25-22 victory over then-fourth ranked St. Thomas (Minnesota). Sophomore J. Dan Sturgeon made his first start at quarterback and completed 13 of 27 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns, including a game-winner to Josh Malone with less than 90 seconds remaining. Stout’s defense held St. Thomas to 100 yards rushing, including 46 yards by All-America running back Jordan Roberts.
UW-River Falls (2-1) at UW-Eau Claire (1-2), 1 p.m.
Notes: River Falls dominated Missouri Baptist last week, 30-3, as Michael Diggins ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns and the Falcons’ defense held Baptist to minus-26 yards rushing behind 11 tackles for loss and four sacks. … UW-Eau Claire is trying to bounce back from last week’s 44-0 loss at George Fox University (Oregon). The Blugolds converted only five of 16 third-down situations and totaled 228 yards of offense.

Notes: La Crosse readied for the WIAC season with a 41-6 victory over Carroll University last week. Senior defensive lineman Brandon McKandes had five tackles as the Eagles held the Pioneers to six points, 13 first downs and 189 yards of offense and senior Ryan Kruser of Waunakee returned a punt 58 yards for a touchdown. … Stevens Point scored 21 first-quarter points last week on its way to a 41-28 win over Adrian (Michigan). Senior Jerry Williams (Watertown) grabbed three touchdown passes and freshman Zach Bosek rushed for 132 yards as the Pointers racked up 555 yards of offense.
