Warhawks update: Coming off of a bye week, Whitewater will play its final non-conference game before taking on UW-Platteville to open up conference play. The Warhawks have outscored their opponents 110-16 and outrushed their opponents 691-105. As a team, Whitewater is averaging 7.0 yards per carry. The Warhawks have not allowed any second half points this season.

Mustangs update: Morningside, located in Sioux City along the Iowa border with Nebraska, comes into the game ranked No. 2 in the NAIA coach’s poll. The Mustangs earned their first conference victory and handed Dordt College its first loss last week, 87-14. Morningside has outscored its opponents, 149-14, and 111-7 in the first half alone. The Mustangs have outrushed their opponents 630-168 and have built a 646-111 advantage through the air.

No. 10 UW-Platteville (2-0) at Lakeland College (2-0)

Pioneers update: Senior Tom Kelly has thrown for 507 yards and nine touchdowns headed into this weekend’s matchup. Senior receiver Quinn Buschbacher is averaging 10 catches for 81 yards per game. Platteville is 1-1 in games against Lakeland, including Mike Emendorfer’s first game as head coach of the Pioneers, a 20-17 victory in 1999. Platteville has only allowed one scoring play, a touchdown in the fourth quarter of a 26-7 victory against St. Francis University.

Muskies update: Lakeland has been the victor of two close games this season. The Muskies earned a 40-38 victory with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Michael Whitley to Richard Micheaux with 7 seconds remaining. Lakeland marched down the field in 24 seconds on a drive that began won their own 13-yard line. In their opening week, the Muskies earned a 27-24 victory over Carroll University. Muskies head coach Colin Bruton is a former UW-Platteville assistant coach.
