The Big Ten honors keep coming for Dana Rettke.

Rettke was named Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week for her play in the University of Wisconsin volleyball team’s matches at Iowa and Nebraska. It was the second consecutive Freshman honor for Rettke and her fourth in six weeks this season. She also has one Player of the Week honor.

Rettke, a 6-foot-8 middle blocker from Riverside, Illinois, averaged 2.9 kills and 1.3 blocks per set with a .396 hitting percentage as the Badgers split their matches. She had six kills against Iowa, hitting an error-free .600. She had 11 kills and six blocks in a five-set loss to Nebraska.

Despite the loss to the Cornhuskers, the Badgers remained No. 7 in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Undefeated Florida remained at No. 1, followed by Stanford, Penn State, Nebraska, Texas and Minnesota. The Badgers and Gophers meet Wednesday at the UW Field House.

Three other Big Ten teams made the Top 25: No. 14 Michigan State, No. 18 Purdue and No. 22 Michigan.

The Badgers (11-2, 2-2 Big Ten) also are No. 7 in the NCAA’s first RPI ranking. Penn State tops that list, followed by Florida, Texas, Minnesota, Kentucky and Nebraska.
